What do you mean when you say AGS is a team?

I am the owner of AGS Photo Art, but I am not the only artist on our team! Unlike some other photographers who operate as small businesses and often work alone, we have a team with multiple members. We are fortunate to have a handful of associate photographers, a small group of second photographers who assist us at weddings, and an in-house office team consisting of an office assistant, a studio manager, and more. So, when you choose to work with us, rest assured that you will be fully taken care of!

What sets you apart from other photographers?

My work stands out from the industry standard due to my background in fine art degree and a robust portfolio of work. With over 15 years of experience, I have captured the special moments of numerous couples, ranging from small intimate weddings on the coast to grand 300-person ballrooms in a museum in San Francisco. Having photographed weddings of various types, I have the expertise to handle any situation that may arise on a couple's wedding day. I am also constantly learning and seeking inspiration, ensuring that I remain creative and dedicated to providing the best experience for all my couples.

We are working with a planner, how does that work with you?

We understand and respect how busy you might be during this planning process. Our goal is to ensure that there is as little stress as possible for you. You can be involved as much or as little as you'd like. We frequently collaborate with wedding planners, allowing us to create a seamless timeline that optimizes your photography needs as well as all your other wedding day requirements.

Do you have a studio?

Yes! Suite Q is my photography studio, which offers a private experience for couples to capture their precious interactions. Located in the heart of downtown Monterey on Cannery Row, the studio resides in a historic building that embodies the essence of Monterey. This industrial structure, over 100 years old, boasts loft ceilings that allow for the beautiful illumination of natural north light throughout the studio. From bridal boudoirs to fine art bridal portraits, I capture a wide range of photography genres in this space, fostering endless creativity. In addition to photographing my lovely couples, the studio also serves as a venue for local photographer meet-ups and photography group education.

What is your pricing?

Every wedding is unique! I tailor custom collections for each client, taking into consideration your specific needs for your wedding day. Whether your wedding is a multi-day event at a destination or a sweet 2-8 hour elopement in Big Sur, I understand that no two weddings are alike. Until we delve deeper into the details of your special day, we firmly believe in avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach.

How do I reserve my wedding date with you?

Your wedding date is reserved with a signed booking agreement and completed booking fee — but first, we start with a consultation call to see if we are a great fit.

Do you work with second shooters?

Yes, I collaborate with our fantastic team on wedding days to ensure comprehensive coverage of all the necessary areas throughout the day. Depending on the wedding, we may even have three photographers to capture every moment!

Do you offer videography?

I don’t offer video, however, I have a few recommendations for great local videographers. Our curated vendor list is given to all of our couples once we’re booked.

Do you shoot film or digital?

You get the best of both worlds with me. I started with film photography before the advent of digital cameras, and now I am a hybrid film and digital photographer. This means that on your special day, I will capture moments using both film and digital formats!

What is your approach to photographing a wedding day?

My approach to photographing the wedding day is both organized and creative. I collaborate with you leading up to your wedding to establish a clear timeline, which is essential for ensuring an stress-free day. I blend classic, posed portraits with candid, documentary-style moments. To get a glimpse of our signature style, click here to visit our Portfolio.

How do you stay on schedule during the day?

As every wedding is unique, we strive to capture the complete story for you. We carefully curate our collection, retaining between 25-50% of the images taken. Several factors contribute to this selection process, but our priority is always quality over quantity. On average, we typically keep around 50% of the imagery, ensuring that only the best photos make the cut. After all, you wouldn't want blurry or blinking photos anyway!

What is your turnaround time?

We understand that film is not the quickest process, however it is totally worth the wait. Turnaround time for engagement/portrait sessions is usually between 4-8 weeks. Weddings can take up to 12 weeks during our busy season.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Yes! We offer hand-made wedding albums, custom designed in-house by yours truly!

When do we start the album design process?

Once your gallery reveal takes place, we promptly schedule your album design meeting within the same week. This ensures that we can create your dream album while you have the time available. We understand that life can get busy, so we prioritize making time for this important step right away.

Do you offer prints or just digital images?

We are a full-service studio, committed to guiding you through the entire process from start to finish. Our goal is to deliver the final product of your wedding day, and for us, that entails providing you with tangible copies of your photos, whether in print or album form. Our job and experience are not considered complete until we reach the album stage, ensuring that you can hold your cherished memories in your hands.
