Samantha + Zachary – Barn Flanagan’s Farm Wedding

I am so excited to share Samantha and Zachary’s Portland Main destination wedding at The Barn at Flanagan’s Farm!

Samantha and Zachary’s love story was total fate and it is an absolutely amazing story! They met working at paper source together…. and one of them stopped working there and then 5 years later they walked past one another on the streets of NYC and caught a glance at each other on the streets. It was like fate for them to see one another again! He is from the Maine area and she is from Massachusetts so they were both not from NYC but were there for school. She contacted him via Facebook and they reconnected that way. And the rest is history! How cool is that?!

How They Met

I met Zach via craigslist when I first moved to Monterey. He was proposing to his girlfriend at Pfeiffer beach in Big Sur (they were traveling south for a wedding) and we googled, hung out together & got know one another and then set up everything for the proposal. I waited at the beach until he arrived and I very secretly photographed him propose! It was amazing! She was so shocked and in love and crying! I took photos of them all around the beach and let them know that I am bicoastal (East and West Coast) and they hired me fir their wedding a week later!

They have this thing that they do often where they photograph each other doing the “follow me to” – he’s really into photography and very talented and they do this wherever they go so for both their engagement and wedding I integrated this into the shots. It was so much fun and I love that that is part of their story.

There are so many things I love about both Samantha and Zach. She’s soo organized and thorough and he is so in love with her and so smart! As a couple, they make each other stronger and compliment each other in so many different ways.  They are the exact kind of couple that I love working with….very intentional on everything they did and selected for their wedding. They made their wedding into a total dream come true!

The Wedding

The night before the wedding, I photographed their rehearsal dinner and met everyone – they had lobster for everyone! The entire wedding was well themed for “Maine” and so of course, lobster was everywhere.

There were so many special details for this wedding, it was just to die for, perfect in every way. The location, the weather, the details which were AMAZING! Besides all of the nods to the perfect Maine theme with lots of lobster throughout (his cufflinks were lobsters as a gift from her), the barn was rustic, there were antique glasses, her dress is from BHLDN, her bracelets along with her mothers are actually the ends of their wedding gowns dipped in metal…(Samantha’s is from her mothers gown and her mothers bracelet is from the grandmothers gown…) , their rings were also made from a friend who’s a jeweler. Their ceremony was a Jewish ceremony – the alter (chuppa) had her grandfather cloth above it which has been in the family for generations.

Their whole wedding was from start to finish detailed for them. It was absolutely stunning. Enjoy some of my favorite images from the day below!
