Carmel Surprise Proposal

This Carmel surprise proposal was so sweet. I just fell in love with these two! They found each other on Bumble and the rest is history. It is always so exciting to be a part of such a marking moment in two people’s lives. As a Carmel photographer, Big Sur has to be one of the best places to do it. From a stroll through the sand to the coastline portraits, this place is definitely the spot to capture a perfect love story. It was an honor to photograph these two and I am so excited for their future together!

When did you know they were THE one?

I knew Ashley was special from our first phone call but knew for sure after our first date. We had a first date activity where we each wrote on an index card what our thoughts were of each other, and we buried them in a glass heart covered in our favorite color glitter. We still haven’t read what we each wrote.

What do you love most about your partner? 

We love that we can be ourselves with one another. Ashley is always singing or dancing to whatever is on the radio – which gets me to laugh.

Tell us all about the ring!

The ring is a yellow gold solitaire. Engraved with our favorite saying “Better Together”. When I first messaged Ashley I referenced looking for the Better together feeling and she was the first person to identify the Jack Johnson song connection.
