A Timeless Monterey Wedding | Katherine & John

Katherine and John’s timeless Monterey wedding was absolutely stunning! The wedding venue was held at the Perry House. I’m so happy I was able to photograph the wedding because it was such a beautiful, elegant, and timeless event. John and Katherine decided to have their wedding at the very beginning of summer, ensuring the best weather on California’s Central Coast. As a Monterey Photographer, I always appreciate having perfect weather on the wedding day! The bride and groom started their day by getting ready with their wedding party and close family members. I love photographing the bride with her long-time best friend and maid of honor, there are always lots of love and happy tears in the room.

Katherine and John’s reception kicked off with their memorable, romantic first dance. The rest of their night was full of so much energy and love from their loved ones. It’s really important to both Katherine and John that they have moments of them spending time and dancing with their grandparents, which of course led to many tears in the room! The night is extra special because all of their family came from outside of California to see them get married.

The Bride and Groom portraits were especially magical because they hadn’t had the chance to see each other all day, and this was their chance to really enjoy each other. The wedding feel of the day was very calm, and cool with a lot of energy and love to go around.

The overall feel of Katherine and John’s day made me feel like I was back on the east coast, with a stunning coastal New England feel to it. I felt like I was on the East Coast when photographing their wedding. Her dress was stunning, minimal, and modern while his suit was a classic dark blue.
