A Private Boudoir Studio Session
What a romantic season it’s been. I am so honored to have captured these intimate moments for my client! The results came out gorgeous and effortless, especially in the stunning natural light of the studio. I have always wanted to create empowering images for women. That is my mission, and I keep it front of mind as I shoot these wonderful Monterey boudoir photography sessions.
I couldn’t be happier about the location of my studio as a Monterey boudoir photographer. I have the perfect lighting, space, and privacy in a historic building on Cannery Row! The most important thing is that my clients feel comfortable and free to be themselves. The art comes naturally once that is prioritized. Confidence and comfort first!
Who is Boudoir good for?
I’ll tell you a little secret… it’s good for EVERYONE! Regardless of age or gender, Monterey boudoir photography is always open to you. New mothers and pregnant mommies-to-be also! I especially love shooting boudoir in black and white film. I am a hybrid photographer, meaning I shoot both film and digital. The monochrome looks so classy and nostalgic. See below this gorgeous shot I took on medium format film.
Boudoir as art
Boudoir was where it all started for me as a photographer. When I attended college at Marywood University, I did my senior thesis on boudoir and found it awe-inspiring and empowering. I wanted to help other women feel empowered and cast a light on their beauty.
To understand how to do this for my clients, I first looked back in history to the masters who had achieved it through their art. One particular artist struck me, and I still think of his art, methods, and mission to this day. Henri Matisse was a French painter who specialized in human anatomy and conveyed it so freely. With his subjects’ muscles relaxed and their movements seemingly fluid and graceful, I wanted to emulate that in my photography.
Invest in yourself
When you’re looking for a boudoir photographer, you need an expert who can carry out their craft while making you feel comfortable and relaxed. It’s a delicate art that requires experience and the ability to understand others. The photographer needs to put themselves in your shoes! They need to make sure the temperature is warm enough, that the sheets or blankets are soft enough, and that everything is accounted for preparation-wise, from the outfits, makeup, and hair to the snacks and champagne!
That’s where I come in – I am that photographer! I know Valentine’s Day has passed… But it is never too late to book a Monterey boudoir photography session. Any month of the year, any stage of life, and any gender! If you want to learn more, check out more here. If you’re ready to invest in yourself, contact me!
