Kaitlin of Pocketful Of Plans and I have been waiting for this special day to arrive for the sweetest couple ever. Madi and Zach really are the kindest people you could ever meet! Madi loves everyone and everyone loves her, and Zach brings the best out in people. The two of them have the sweetest love story and all the most romantic things to say about each other. Read on for this amazing couple’s Monterey wedding at The Club At Pasadera!
How Did You Two Meet?
“We met in college through a class we had together, flirting from across the room for some time before we started hanging out. Then, we quickly realized we had a lot of the same interests, like music, dancing, and traveling. Zach invited me to a DJ set he was performing and I was instantly smitten! Our first year of dating was somewhat unusual because I studied abroad for most of it. As one can imagine, being on a different continent and in a different time zone had its challenges. Zach and I feel lucky though! Being away from each other so early in our relationship made us both realize how much we care about each other. I guess you can say, our “honeymoon phase” didn’t happen until our I returned home. It was exciting though- being able to rediscover each other and our connection.” – Madisen
Getting Ready At The Club At Pasadera
The wedding day started with hair and makeup in the villa on property. I loved capturing Madi and her girls- total bridal squad goals! Getting ready photos are always such sweet and sentimental keepsakes in my Monterey wedding photographer eyes. From Madi with her mom and her pearl necklace, to Grandma’s flower crown being put in her hair. Madi and Zach also had these beautiful leather bound vow books that gave their Monterey wedding at The Club At Pasadera such a romantic, old souls feel!
Their Love Story
We’d been dating 6 years and we planned a trip to Iceland to celebrate our anniversary. Beforehand I told Madi I couldn’t afford both a ring and trip (to throw her off the scent) when secretly, I had purchased a ring about 2 months ahead of time to take to Iceland with me. Our second day there, she said how magical it would be if I proposed at the Blue Lagoon. I then knew that’s where I was going to do it, so we set up our day at the Blue Lagoon. When we arrived there they took her to the dressing room and I told the front desk of the Blue Lagoon of my plan. They told me they were more than happy to help me out with everything. Meanwhile, I was looking around to find a vantage point overlooking everything before finding the picture perfect spot!”
“I went to the front desk to tell them that we were ready to go and I told them the exact spot I wanted to do it at. They were incredibly accommodating and told me that was no problem. When we got there, I pointed out the view and we had pictures taken. I had our guide recording the entire thing. After that, I got on my knee and proposed to her. She was incredibly surprised which made everything so much better! Literally right after the proposal, a woman came out with champagne to celebrate! With this amazing day, we went back to our hostel and spent the next two weeks in engaged bliss, enjoying everything that Iceland had to offer. It was a trip of a lifetime and Iceland will always hold a special place in our hearts.” – Zach
Monterey Wedding First Look
You already know I love capturing first looks as a Monterey wedding photographer! It was a super beautiful and private moment for the lovely bride and groom in this pretty archway at on the Pasadera property. Capturing it all was so touching with moment before they see each other picture to the moment they turned around. And of course, the embrace afterward!
What Do You Love Most About Your Partner?
“I love everything about Madisen. Her smile, her personality, her laugh, the way she sees the world. Her taste in music and how outgoing she is. I don’t have to change anything about myself, we compliment each other. She grounds me and shows me the world has so much love in it. She inspires me to be better every day.” – Zach
“I love the passion Zach brings to everything he does. The fire I see in his eyes is contagious and quite attractive 🙂 I find myself wanting to be a better person for knowing him. He’s good at everything I’m not. His level headed approach in life makes me feel balanced, centered, and insanely fortunate to have such an incredible partner. I know his height and handsome face caught my attention right away. His charm and adorable smirk still give me butterflies.” – Madison
