A Hinge Success Story!

Meet Daniel and Stella! When Daniel inquired about having a Big Sur proposal, we sent out a questionnaire to get to know him and his fiance-to-be. When we asked Daniel what he loves most about Stella, he said, “She’s extremely kind and loving, and my life is so much better and more meaningful with her in it.” So sweet! He knew she was the one just a few dates in. “I knew that she was someone extremely special. The more time we spent together, the more I was confirmed of that belief,” Daniel said upon reminiscing. They met on Hinge, and we’d say this is a success story for the books.

Spending quality time together is paramount for them. Daniel said, “We both love serving our communities through our churches. We also love to stay active through working out together!” Not only are they involved in their community, they push each other to stay active as well. Talk about goals!

An Adventurous Big Sur Proposal

When Daniel got down on one knee, it was an immediate YES from Stella. She was so happy, she cried! The gorgeous blue waves swayed in the background of this perfectly captured moment. The sun shined perfectly in the sky that day. It made Stella’s ring shine all the more brilliantly! This 18k yellow gold oval diamond with pear-cut adornments was picked out perfectly for her.

These two were sooo smitten. They couldn’t stop smiling the entire shoot! For the record, this shoot had a variety of locations, and they didn’t get tired even one bit. Their gallery has a vast collection of rocky cliffs and forest-y trees. There is lush greenery along rustic dirt paths, and of course, Big Sur’s gorgeous oceanic views.

Dressed for Success

We’d say Daniel and Stella dressed PERFECTLY for Big Sur! Time and time again, we recommend a pair of hiking boots or reliable sneakers. We also recommend layers, jackets, pants, and neutral colors. The cliffside terrain is rocky and uneven, so heels are big fat NO! Trust me – your ankles will thank you later. On top of that, Big Sur has several micro-climates and leans toward colder temperature with strong coastal winds.

There are ticks and poison oak commonly all over Big Sur. California State Parks advises: “Avoid it or push to the side with a pole/stick! It is found throughout our parks and can be very beautiful, ranging in color from red to green. Know what to look for and wear long sleeves and pants.” For this adventurous Big Sur proposal, the two dressed in neutral colors, allowing the scenic landscape to really pop! Along with being easier on the eye, neutrals complement skin tones and often enhance portraiture.

Daniel wore a layered black jacket over a grey hoodie, black pants and a pair of Blundstone’s. To contrast him, Stella wore a stylish white puffer jacket over a black hoodie. She had on athletic leggings and some cute long socks over her hiking boots. She was totally surprised when he proposed, but she certainly was dressed perfectly for the photoshoot! Oftentimes, the partner will prep their fiancé-to-be with the sly suggestion of dressing nicely. They might say it’s for something like dinner reservations or to see family. It gets tricky when they’re asking their partner to dress both comfortably AND scaled up. Especially so when one of them isn’t aware a professional photoshoot is on the itinerary for the day! Even so, Stella is naturally just that fashionable and practical.
