As a Carmel by the Sea photographer, it was a blast photographing Justin and Aimee’s proposal. These two lovebirds met in high school. But they reconnected at their friend’s wedding where they were both in the wedding party.

After a short stroll on the beach, Justin found the perfect moment to get down on his knee and pop the question with the diamond ring in hand. You could see the sparks fly when Aimee said “yes.” To celebrate this incredible moment in their lives, they popped some champagne and made a toast. It was an honor to be a part of Justin and Aimee’s surprise proposal. I am so excited for their future together.

When did you know they were THE one?

I knew she was the one after only a few weeks of us being friends. We started dating and I loved how she was as a mother to Ollie and I could see how big her heart was especially when it comes to helping people. She is the nicest, most loving woman I’ve ever met.

What do you love most about your partner? 

I love her smile, and we are always joking with each other and we both embrace each other’s weirdness.

Carmel by the sea has to be one of the most beautiful locations for special moments like surprise proposals and engagements. It is the perfect spot for the most beautiful sunsets pretty much all year round. Being a Carmel local, I really enjoy photographing my couples along the coast and Guerrepata Beach is definitely a great option.
