Carmel Valley Engagement Shoot | Ashley & Bryan

I had the honor of photographing Ashley and Bryan’s sweet engagement pictures in the Carmel Valley. Their engagement shoot was such a blast and we captured some beautiful portraits together. Ashley and Bryan have been dating a little over two years now and are planning an April wedding in Hollister, CA! I am so excited that not only did I get the opportunity to photograph their engagement shoot, but I also will get to photograph their wedding too! There is nothing a wedding photographer loves more than an opportunity to photograph a couple together before their big day. Not only does it allow me to get to know you on a more personal level, but it gives you a taste of what to expect for your wedding day too! Carmel Valley Engagement Photography

We were lucky to have amazing weather during this engagement shoot. It was sunny and warm; literally perfect weather for a shoot. Ashely and Bryan were super heads over heels for one another and it was evident in their engagement photos! You can just tell these two are the perfect fit. Ashley wanted to take photos in the mountains so that her engagement pictures matched her wedding aesthetic. So, we ended up climbing the mountain and taking jaw-dropping pictures at the top at the end of our shoot. We ended our shoot at the top of the mountain, watching the sunset over the horizon. Doesn’t that sound like a fairytale!?

Tell us the story of how you met!

We first met at a friend’s wedding. I was the maid of honor and Bryan was a groomsman. It was a very brief “hi” and not much after during the event. 6 months later, we had multiple game nights with the same friends who had gotten married and hit it off very well. We started with texting here and there and eventually met up on our own for lunch one day. We started dating shortly after.

Tell us about the proposal!! How did he pop the question!?

We got engaged in Hawaii (Maui) in July 2021. We went on a week vacation with my (Ashley) parents. One of the nights we were there, we attended a Luau. There was a photographer taking pictures of couples, families, etc. over looking the water with the sunset in the background. Bryan had us go take pictures (for the second time) and proposed on the spot. The photographer caught the moment on camera and my parents got to see everything. At the time, I didn’t think he ever verbally asked me because I didn’t hear him… I just shoved my hand out as my response. I later learned that he asked me 3 times and I was so shocked I never heard him ask. He later asked me so I could hear him because I kept joking that I should give the ring back because he never technically asked me.
