Almost four years ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Bo and Katie’s wedding at the Eagle Vines Golf Club in Napa Valley, CA- and now these two are expecting a baby boy this March! I was thrilled when they reached out to me again to photograph their redwood maternity session in the Bay Area. After all, while I am a local Carmel photographer, I also love going to new places with my couples and capturing their special moments wherever they decide. That’s the beauty of also being a destination photographer!

We spent all day catching up while taking a stroll through this beautiful forest setting. Actually, the location was all scouted out beforehand by Bo who’s enjoys photographing scenery himself with an eye for great lighting and views. They really wanted those rich green and organic elements for their redwood maternity session so Bo couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot!

Redwood and Forest Greens

I loved Bo and Katie’s coordination in their outfits for their redwood maternity session. Bo was totally dressed to the nines for his role of New Dad with some dapper denim jeans and a snazzy button up! He also matched these awesome brown boots with Katie’s outfit- and oh my goodness, Katie’s dress! Green is definitely your color, my friend! I loved the way this deep green dress from Baltic Born complimented the forest setting in her redwood maternity session. Thoughtful details like these really shine through in the photos, don’t you think?

A New Chapter After The Maternity Session: Moving Up The Coast!

While of course, I miss them already, I’m also beyond excited for Bo and Katie to move up to Oregon soon! No doubt, they could use the extra space with their baby boy on the way. And the Oregon forest-meets-coast life is certainly an attractive life to live! You get the best of both worlds! I know as a destination photographer, versatile locations with a mix of elements are worth their weight in gold. Also not going to lie, I love to visit places like that too 😉

Capturing A Legacy

It was so great getting to spend time with Bo and Katie again! These two are so sweet and I’m so honored they chose me to photograph their redwood maternity session. Having that trust and closeness with my couples means the world to me! And the fact that they’ve referred me many times to their friends and family to photograph their special occasions makes my heart so full! It’s a small world after all when I see them at their loved ones’ weddings and other celebrations.

I can’t say enough about them! Bo and Katie really are a legacy couple of AGS and have in turn, given me the huge honor of being their legacy photographer. That is, I’ve photographed their engagement, wedding, and now their maternity session too! Here’s to capturing more of your precious moments, Katie and Bo!
