Two creatives tie the knot in the Pocono Mountains
One of the reasons I love being a bi-coastal wedding photographer is the diversity of weddings and venues I get to shoot at. This unique wedding in the Poconos was no exception. The getting ready and ceremony portion of the day was at Lake Naomi Clubhouse in the Pocono Mountains and the reception was at their Mountain Top Lodge.
My History with the Couple
Let’s start at the beginning. I went to Marywood University with these two, and we spent a lot of time in the art department together. Tim did photography and Meg designs and draws (she is so amazing!). Naturally, she designed her own invitations and save the dates! They are both amazingly creative and fun people! Meg and Tim were married on an awesome day in June of this year surrounded by their huge group of close friends and family!
Believe it or not, Meg & Tim hired me to be their wedding photographer two years before their wedding! They knew they wanted a film photographer for their unique Poconos wedding and the best part about working with them is – it was comfortable. They knew me and I knew them. I work insanely hard for my friends – they trusted me 100%. Honestly, it was like one big Marywood Party again, only this time when we were celebrating, there was a bride and groom.
The Unique Details
As for the details, they were perfect. The unique details of this Poconos wedding really made the day and spoke to who these two are as a couple. Meg made the invitations. There were succulents as the table flowers, polaroids for the guests to photograph with, and they had a local band play–The Coal Town Rounders. They are a must-see if you’re ever in the Northeast PA region!
One Big Party
As I mentioned, they have a really large group of friends. They have all been at each other’s weddings, and they always say they’ll get a group photo and they never do, so this time we did! All of their friends are creative in some way and they had a really fun, hip down-to-earth wedding. Enjoy some of my favorites from the day!
Thank you Meg & Tim, it was such an honor to photograph your day! Are you planning a Poconos wedding? Get in touch, I’d love to photograph it!
