Alissa and Sean are the sweetest couple and I was SO head over heels for them photographing their Wind & Sea Estate Big Sur wedding! They were referred to me by another local photographer who did their engagement session. I haven’t been to the Wind & Sea Estate in a few years so I loved having the opportunity to shoot there again. How Did You Two Meet?

“We met the way a lot of couples do – through a mutual friend. Sean’s roommates sister was my neighbor in college and would visit frequently. We first got to know each other squished in a car on a road trip to Santa Barbara. Soon after, Sean asked me to go on a date to the movies. He actually proposed on my birthday while we were in wine tasting in Carmel and the rest is history. We’ve been together for 10 years now.” – Alissa

Big Sur Wedding Photographer At The Wind & Sea Estate

Sean was over the moon to marry Alissa. Getting ready for the big day at the Wind & Sea Estate was really calm and serene. Especially with Mom and Dad around! It was such a sweet time and full of groom and bridal portraits and the First Look, which was absolutely stunning, complete with the wind in Alissa’s hair and her bouquet by Kate Healey of Big Sur Flowers. Not to mention the tears flowing during the ceremony, followed by a really intimate and wonderful dinner with sweet speeches and first dances in the dark, all lit up by firelight.

It was an amazing trip down memory lane revisiting Wind & Sea Estate in Big Sur and getting to shoot Alissa and Sean’s wedding there. It’s right next door to the iconic Pfeiffer falls too! And it’s always a great idea to have your getting ready, First Look, ceremony, and reception all in the same place if it’s applicable. The Wind & Sea Estate really does it all! The colors and details of Alissa and Sean’s Big Sur wedding were all so vibrant, whimsical, and romantic. Right down to the gorgeous warm red dresses the bridesmaids wore!

Intimate Wind & Sea Estate Wedding

Alissa wore this beautiful emerald cut three stone ring and the middle stone was from Sean’s grandma’s ring! I love little family touches like this. The two of them are honeymooning in Europe- Germany, France and Switzerland- what a trip! I loved every minute of their Wind & Sea Estate Big Sur wedding and it was such a treat falling in love with this beautiful couple and a beautiful venue that’s near and dear to me!
