Wow, what a year! 2019 came and went so quickly I feel like most of these weddings and sessions were only just yesterday! As most of you know by now my business AGS Photo Art specializes in Weddings, Portraits, and Events.
I wanted to give all my readers an overview of how this past year went for my small, but growing business here in Carmel & Big Sur. It sure was a whirlwind!
Big events both personal and business. I truly want to express my gratitude and appreciation for everyone who has trusted me with their day, their new heirloom albums, their special first moments, their events and a huge thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me this year. I can’t thank you enough (MANY HEART EMOJIS!)!
Are you guys ready for this? Here we go!
A Quick Overview
In 2019, AGS Photo Art photographed over 25 weddings (big and small), over 20 corporate events, 13 proposals, 5 elopements, 8 private events, 5 commercial shoots, and 8 boudoir shoots and so much more. In total, I did about 250 shoots! 2019 was a great year for AGS Photo Art.
I accomplished some personal goals (like posting on Instagram and this blogging consistently), and we worked with incredible brides and vendors. Shout out to all my vendors! In this post, we’re covering 2019: Year in Review including some of my favorite events, what every bride wanted, and highlighting some of my favorite blog series. Keep scrolling for a re-cap of the year and soooo many pretty photos!
2019 Noteworthy Events
Possibly one of the most meaningful events I hosted this year was my OM Fundraiser at Cyclebar Carmel Rancho. I became very vulnerable on my blog about my personal journey with Ocular Melanoma and how it affected my photography, and soon after, I collaborated with a lot of incredible vendors to host a fundraiser. Raising money for more OM research is something I have always wanted to do. If you were there this year, I just want to say thank you! And to everyone who contributed: thank you so much. It really meant the world.

Traveling for work was so fun for me! In 2019, I traveled to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Santa Barbara, Texas (twice!!), Arizona, and many more! Did you see on my IG stories about what’s in my camera bag and how I pack for events? I enjoyed seeing and getting to know new wedding venues with the opportunity to meet with my darling couples in their space!
Finally, I can’t mention 2019 without also mentioning how incredible it was to be at my brother’s wedding. Easily the highlight of my year in review! I love my brother so much (I even wrote a post about how he is an important part of my support system here), and I am so grateful that I could be a part of his big day. The best part of it, I got a new SISTER!
2019: What Every Bride Wanted
In 2019, I feel like all of my brides wanted to preserve their wedding memories after their big day. I offer custom designed wedding albums, I was able to work with many of my couples days after their wedding. We designed their wedding albums to be exactly what they wanted them to be picked out the perfect parent folio as gifts and selected iconic wedding images to frame.
Second of all, another popular item was wedding weekend experiences. I LOVE THEM! What do you think? If you were getting married, you’ll have a rehearsal dinner or welcome party before your day anyways, would you want a photographer? I’m sure you would want to capture all those moments too… why not hire your photographer for the whole weekend? DONE!
This year about half of our weddings had us join them for at least two days! It was such a great way for us to get to know your families, friends, and guests before the wedding day! I mean a dream come true. It’s such a great experience for us as well to deliver a full, cohesive wedding weekend to you!
Achieving Personal Goals
As we all know, it’s easy with the new year to look forward to what’s coming next, but I think it’s also so important to look back on what we’ve accomplished the past year. That’s why I always write a year in review! One of my favorite blog series was our Venue Feature series where we explored each venue and interviewed them. We had this opportunity at Santa Lucia Preserve, Carmel Valley Ranch, Folktale and many more. Of course, there’s so much potential in each unique venue! I loved getting the chance to see them all. Have questions about a venue you’re thinking of? Just ask!
I also loved all of our small business features! There are so many incredible local vendors that we highlighted this year. They are the kindest, most authentic, hard-working people. They are what make our wedding days complete! Have a great vendor team on your wedding day secures a seamless, ebb, and flow! Vendors like Epiphany Bridal Boutique, The Hair + Makeup Company, Fionna Floral, E Events Co., Revival Vintage Rentals and Pocketful Of Plans.
Boudoir
Ultimately, I am so grateful for everything that I’ve had the opportunity to do in 2019. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my year in review! Ringing in 2020 with some big hopes and dreams! Getting married this year or next? How exciting! Connect with us here to learn more about becoming and AGS Bride!
