Aaron’s whimsical Monterey surprise proposal to his lovely lady, now fiancée, Jaclyn, was so beautiful to witness! I am beyond honored to have been their local Monterey photographer for this very special occasion. Not only has Aaron been planning this for a LONG time (he hired me six months ago!), he also tailored it so wonderfully to Jaclyn’s love for sailboats in the Spanish Bay at Pebble Beach! The Man With a Plan

It was so awesome to work together with Aaron in planning his proposal for Jaclyn. There’s always a certain kind of pressure that falls on the man to make sure everything is picture-perfect, and I’m happy to help in any and every way that I can. It was also a really unique delight for me that Aaron has a passion for photography!

Sun Kissed At Spanish Bay

The plan was always to propose in Monterey because of family ties this lovely couple has here. Aaron made reservations The Inn at Spanish Bay for the whole family so they could all surprise Jaclyn together. Needless to say, she was head over heels, crying, and jumping up and down with joy! I love photographing those moments, especially with having all the sailboats around to add this whimsical element to the shots!

Proposal Adventures: Wild Cards & Curveballs

Contrary to Aaron’s carefully (and anxiously!) made plans, Jaclyn and her adventurous spirit ended up taking him in a different direction. There were more than a few times when he looked back at me as she wandered away from where he wanted her to stand for the magical moment, and admittedly, I couldn’t help thinking it was so sweet and funny!

He pulled out the ring three times but put it away each time she turned around- I’m still surprised Jaclyn didn’t catch him! Not to worry though, after the fourth time, Aaron finally got his window of opportunity.

Hands To Hold

Everything about Aaron and Jaclyn’s Monterey proposal was so whimsical and beautiful to photograph. I’m so enamored by the ring! The round cut with its halo setting and a braided band is truly gorgeous. Aaron knew how to fit it perfectly for her strong hands, (Jaclyn has a background in horseback riding) which I think is purely the stuff of romance.
