I photographed Katie and Zane’s engagement photoshoot in Big Sur on New Year’s Eve! The shoot allowed me to get to know Katie and Zane on a more personal level before their wedding in July of this year. It was a joy being able to watch the two of them interact together. Since Zane is active duty in the Air Force, these two were so happy and giddy to be able to spend time together. It was almost like I wasn’t there and these two were enjoying these fleeting moments with one another. It was pure magic and so evident in the photos!

Big Sur Engagement Photoshoot

I was in love with Katie’s outfits that she wore for this Big Sur engagement photoshoot! For her first outfit, she wore the cutest velvet clog heels and a long leather vest that popped in the photos. For her second outfit, she wore a gorgeous dress that she told me she has been dying to wear. I cannot wait to see what her wedding dress looks like for her big day at Mission Ranch!

Tell me how you met!

We actually met online during COVID shelter in place! We didn’t have our first in-person date for almost 2 months! But we’ve been inseparable since then.

How did he propose!?

We had talked about getting married pretty early on in our relationship. We had already shopped for rings, so it wasn’t a big surprise. We took a day trip to Big Sur, and he proposed at Jade Cove. We brought his vintage polaroid camera and he was able to get some guy on the beach to take a picture right as he got down on one knee!

Towards the end of this Big Sur engagement photoshoot, we made our way to the coastline. It was super windy, as it usually is along the coastline of Big Sur! However, that did not stop the magic between these two love birds. We ended the shoot on the beach where Katie and Zane got to be a little more playful. Overall, this Big Sur engagement shoot was a dream! I am so lucky to be able to photograph such lovely couples like Katie and Zane!
