I was so excited to finally meet Nicole and Zach for the first time and photograph their Big Sur maternity session! These two have recently moved to the area from Felton in Santa Cruz. Nicole is also a nurse at the local hospital. A huge shoutout to this hardworking Momma, and I loved getting to know Dad, too (Zach and I have a lot of favorite beers in common)! Capturing this Big Sur maternity session was a delight and made me feel so warm and full inside! Here’s the sneak peek of it all!

Gender Reveal In My Studio

Nicole first hired me to shoot a portrait session for the gender reveal. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to fully do everything the way we planned due to COVID, but we switched gears and had it done safely in my studio instead! These Big Sur maternity session photos and the ones in upcoming sessions are such a wholesome and lovely way to commemorate the passage of time for Nicole, Zach and their baby. As her baby bump grows, we’ll be doing more shoots! I can’t wait to see the progression! Also, isn’t the bassinet just adorable?

I got to see Nicole for the first time yesterday when she got to our location. This lovely Momma was dressed to the nines with her hair and makeup done! The weather outside was also perfect for Big Sur sunset photographs, plus a gentle breeze for that soft, natural movement in the shots. I loved the matching blue palette of Nicole and Zach’s clothes! Not to mention the neutral palette for their little one’s clothes too! Keeps things interesting, don’t you think? Orange and green are such awesome colors!

A Bouncing Baby Boy? A Giggling Baby Girl?

These new parents are so full of joy and excitement for their little one and living their new life here in Big Sur. Maternity sessions are wonderful time capsules for parent and child alike. They’re labors of love that you can always look back on with nostalgia!
