Alex and Sascha are one of the COOLEST couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing- their Carmel surprise proposal on the beach was so amazing to shoot! Alex is a TV producer and former musician. Sascha is an actress. They were staying at the Sanctuary Beach Resort Hotel in Monterey and had the brightest and most excited reactions at our morning session for their Carmel surprise proposal on the beach.

How Did You Know They Were The One?

“Sascha and I first met over Tinder. We dated in Los Angeles going to all sorts of nerdy things together. She grew up outside Melbourne, Australia, and moved here a decade ago to act. We got together 5 years ago, moved in together 3 years ago, and got a house and a dog named Suki this year. In fact, when we got a dog together, it was clear that we were in sync on how we wanted to raise her, and how we wanted to build a life together…”

“I have been wanting to propose to Sascha for a while. Doing it on our fifth anniversary just felt like it made sense so I’ve been searching for a ring for a long time. The ring is an emerald cut diamond that I had custom made for her. It has two side stones as well. The setting reminds me of the elves from Lord of the Rings. She loves that sort of fantasy story, so I think she will love it too! Though this is a surprise, I bet she will know what is coming when we go walking on the beach on our anniversary. I think that she will probably cry, and be very excited. Sascha is incredibly kind and understanding. She brings out the warmth in everyone she meets. She is never afraid to be silly if it means making her friends smile.” – Alex

Carmel By The Beach Surprise Proposal

Alex had one of the best proposals! He stayed on his knee for a long time, really let her soak in the moment, and said the sweetest things! She really had no idea even though he thought otherwise. It was a BIG surprise! Not to mention, her dress was SUPER stylish. Both of them are the most dazzling people and the lighting in their photos was just perfect!
