Something that a lot of people don’t know about my business is that I offer photography for corporate events. I visit Stanford University ten times a year to capture their events and presentations as their corporate event photographer. I photograph various meetings, events, and offer professional headshots for faculty.
Of course, my background in studying photography in college lets me offer technical skills that other photographers don’t typically have. Here are some key qualities to look for in corporate events photography…
Photojournalistic Photography
The first quality to look for in a corporate event photographer is someone who can capture photojournalistic styles. Secondly, a corporate event photographer must know how to work with low light. Most corporate events don’t have ideal lighting or studio lighting. Thirdly, finding a corporate event photographer that can capture the event in low light is key to great images. Someone that doesn’t know how to photograph or edit these images will have discolored skin tones and lighting.
Fourth of all, finding a corporate event photographer that can capture journalistic photos is helpful. As a fly on the wall, these photos tell the story of the occasion. I capture the attention of the audience, the engagement of the speaker, and the nature of the event. Later on, they are used for marketing material and branding images. It brings a candid nature to the event! Above all, it’s important to find corporate event photographers who can offer a variety of skills.
Professional Lighting on Location
After most events, audiences are invited to a welcome reception. I bring in my own lighting for these events and get a mixture of candid and posed shots. This is similar to capturing a wedding reception. I pose guests for a “grab and grin” shot. This helps capture the ambiance for the corporate event.
Professional Headshots on Location
Finally, one newer service I offer to my corporate clients as their corporate event photographer is taking professional headshots on location. This means is that I coordinate with the company on various backdrops. After that, I bring my studio on location to capture headshots. In conclusion, headshots are helpful for updated faculty photos, website updates, programs, and anything else.
Summary
Above all, I am so grateful for the opportunity to capture corporate events! I just love visiting Stanford University and capturing their important moments!
