I adored being Ben and Marie’s East Coast engagement session photographer at Clark Summit University. Clark Summit has incredibly beautiful historic buildings settled within 111 acres of Pennsylvanian woodland. We chose to take photos there based on the ambiance and location.
Meeting Ben & Marie
For starters, I met Ben and Marie through my brother, who lives in Scranton Pennsylvania and I loved getting to know them both! Marie, who is originally from California, moved to the East Coast- the opposite of yours truly! They have a sweet dog named Hank who joins them wherever they go. Ben and Marie also have a passion for traveling the world! Overall, being their East Coast engagement photographer was such a delight!
A Quick Tip for Engagement Sessions
For this engagement session, we stayed at one primary location but had three different subtle outfit changes. Although Marie stayed in her classic eyelet blue dress, Ben had two looks. Firstly, one without a jacket and secondly, one with a jacket. Finally, for their third look, they both changed into more casual clothing. Ultimately, this a great way to have some variance in engagement session photography!
Photoshoot Phase One
As an engagement photographer, I loved the colors of the first set of outfits. Ben and Marie’s themes complement each other and work with the surrounding buildings. In a lush forest, Ben’s navy jacket contrasted with the verdant green. Lastly, their casual outfits were perfect for representing a more everyday look- especially with Hank there!
Photoshoot Phase Two
In the second half of our East Coast engagement session, Hank came! Hank caused so many smiles with his presence and playtime. It was important for me as their East Coast engagement photographer to capture Ben playing with Hank. It’s such a natural everyday thing in their home! I love photographing families with their dogs; some people are just natural paw-rents!
