I loved getting to meet this lovely couple and help Soroosh plan his epic Big Sur surprise proposal to Hannah! Under the guise of visiting Hannah’s best friend in Santa Cruz, Soroosh and I were putting together a weekend getaway for this special day. Big Sur is actually a new and exciting place for them. I’m delighted that I got to be their local Big Sur proposal photographer!

Our plan for their surprise proposal in Big Sur was a fictional brunch earlier in the day that would actually be the MAIN event. This is in part because Big Sur can become crowded once the city wakes up. Planning to do things early gets us that intimate element and privacy. Once the epic Big Sur surprise proposal was completed, Soroosh was ready to treat Hannah to spa and dinner reservations so they could really spend the day celebrating each other and taking it all in.

How Did You Two Meet?

“It’s a long story but basically through a mutual friend! We started talking on Facebook. She was in Dallas and I was in Houston. I was traveling through Dallas, so we agreed to meet up. We did, dated long distance for a year, and then made the leap and have been together ever since. I cherish her fierce loyalty, her strength and resilience, her laughter, her courage, her sense of humor, taste in food, her ability to push me to try new things, and her ability to shore up all of my weaknesses.” – Soroosh

How Did You Know They Were The One?

“I’ve always known it, but being together every single day, 24 hours a day, through this pandemic has made it extremely clear to me. Because of COVID, it kept getting pushed back but I just recently got a new job and Hannah got her old job back! It seemed like everything had fallen in place perfectly and it was finally time. We’ll have been together for 7 years in May.” – Soroosh

Although Soroosh admits Hannah probably knows deep down inside because they’ve been together for so long, today is absolutely meant to be a surprise. He also admitted that her reaction could very well something like “wow, this guy! It’s about time!” So great! I love their sense of humor and how it came alive in their epic Big Sur surprise proposal.

According to Soroosh, it can also be pretty tricky to pull the wool over Hannah’s eyes! For example, he told me if they’re going to a restaurant then she HAS to know which one so she can look it up on Yelp. Made me laugh! I’m so glad they were able to relax and trust me as their local Big Sur proposal photographer.
