When I heard that Madison and Reid were planning a jewel-toned wedding at THE Gardener Ranch right here in Carmel, well, as a local Carmel wedding photographer, I was so excited! Brides that choose to explore color is one of the most anticipated looks of 2020. M+R were ahead of the curve!

I feel like I connected with Madison and Reid so much. They love to travel (they’re currently on honeymoon to travel the world for a year together right now!), they prioritize family, and they really trusted me with photographing their full wedding weekend! The Gardener Ranch Jewel Toned Wedding Vibes

Meeting Madison and Reid meant being greeted with the friendliest of smiles. They are both so warm and kind and spending time with them and their families make you feel like you’re a part of it yourself. There is always laughter at their table!

Getting ready was a flurry of bridesmaids in unicorn onesies, which automatically sparks laughter and joy, and was SUCH a treat to photograph. After all, I can’t say as a local Carmel wedding photographer I’ve photographed weddings with unicorn onesies that often! I’ll be sure to add that to my description!

There were special moments when M+R were apart; Maddie gifted Reid a bottle of Pappy van Winkle Bourbon, which is an exclusive and high-end bourbon that is difficult to find. Maddie also received a gift from Reid with a note: “Maddie, I can’t wait to make you my wife today! Here are some things that will last as long as you’re stuck with me. Love, your soon to be husband.” Excited, she opened her gift of Blue Nile diamond earrings.

As a local Carmel Valley wedding photographer, I can say without hesitation that Garderner Ranch is one of Carmel Valley’s best venues! M+R had their ceremony with low wooden benches for seating amidst a meadow backdrop. Stella, the flower pup, went down the aisle adorned with a floral leash that matched the bridesmaid’s bouquets.

Their cocktail hour, provided by Chic Event Rentals, was lounge furniture and a bar in the meadow. Oversized Jenga and Customized Cornhole lawn games were sprinkled throughout the lounge. Guests could also sign a custom cornhole set as a guest book for M+R!

The Gardener Ranch Jewel Toned Details

M+R’s garden reception was stunning to shoot at as a local Carmel wedding photographer! All of the glassware on the table had various jewel-toned colors. The flower arrangements by Big Sur Flowers had elegant pops of pinks fanning from golden and copper vases. I loved snapping each and every shot of colorful details! Each guest had a wooden laser cut name on their plate setting. The menus said “Family BBQ,” with family-style entrees and sides passed around for dinner.

It was such a joy to be M+R’s local Carmel wedding photographer for their beautiful jewel-toned wedding at Gardener Ranch! Their full wedding weekend was incredible. Overall, from their Caviar and Cornhole welcome party and Champagne Olympics to their beautiful wedding itself, it was so much fun! Wishing M+R the best of times on their honeymoon- a year around the world!
