Today we’re going to talk about some lovely Big Sur engagement portraits and the engagement of one of my favorite couples as a local Big Sur proposal photographer! (Technically I am biased since Eugene, also known as Geno, is my brother!). Geno and I are extremely close, so when he began to date Kelly, I knew I had to get to know her better. Ever since they began dating, I noticed that they truly light up around each other. They make each other laugh and their love is so kind.
I am grateful that I get to have such an incredible sister-in-law, and I’m also incredibly grateful to have been given the privilege of being their local Big Sur proposal photographer. Here are their lovely Big Sur engagement portraits that we took around Big Sur, Garrapata Beach, and Carmel Valley Ranch!
Their Love Story
Eugene and Kelly first met in 2011 through a mutual friend. Geno began taking her out casually, but they didn’t officially begin dating until 2012. Living on the East Coast, they always wanted to visit Niagara Falls together one day. For their five year anniversary, Geno planned a trip to Niagara Falls to surprise her.
The Proposal
When they arrived at the Hilton Niagra Falls, the room was ready with flowers and champagne as soon as they got there. Geno simply could not wait to propose. So on the 32nd floor of their hotel room that overlooked the falls, he proposed with his great grandmother’s ring. Excited, Kelly said yes!
Perfect Big Sur Portraits
Geno and Kelly decided to fly to the West Coast, where I currently live, and we traveled around the California Coast to capture their engagement portraits. Aren’t their Big Sur engagement portraits SO lovely? I am so grateful I could capture my brother and his love, not only as a local proposal photographer here in Big Sur but especially as Geno’s sister and Kelly’s sister-in-law. And I simply cannot wait for their wedding in October 2019!
Are you getting married soon? I would love to be your local Big Sur photographer! Reach out to me here.
