I’ve been working closely with Trung as he puts together the perfect Glen Oaks Big Sur proposal for Sophanny. He’s a physician assistant and she’s a nurse so they met at work. The two of them are SUCH funny people and I was always laughing during our session! Trung’s surprise to Sophanny were portraits I captured of them all around Glen Oaks as a Glen Oaks wedding photographer. And since we’re in Big Sur, it wouldn’t be complete without portraits on the coastline too!

Glen Oaks is easily one of my favorite venues in Big Sur for any special occasion- proposals, engagement, weddings- so I’m always over the moon whenever I get to photograph here. Trung set up this beautiful and simple picnic for Sophanny as part of his Glen Oaks Big Sur proposal. You can’t go wrong celebrating with champagne after all! He even included her favorite flowers: pink peonies by Flor De Monterey! I loved capturing this as a Glen Oaks wedding photographer because it was such a sweet and romantic detail. Not to mention the flowers were so fresh! Definitely added the prettiest little pop of color to their photos. Doesn’t the ring look so stunning in the petals?

Big Sur Surprise Proposal

The picnic blanket also doubled as a cozy blanket to wear once Trung, Sophanny, and I moved to some the flowery trails. Eventually, we settled on the cliffside that overlooked the Pacific! Trung in his blue button up and Sophanny in her white dress totally fit in with the color palette. Plus, the sweeping waters make for such epic empty space in photos.
