This Pebble Beach engagement photography session was so beautiful. It was an honor to capture Matt and Rachel’s special moment. This day was perfect for a surprise proposal and Matt made sure to plan ahead for this moment. He wanted this proposal to be special and make his vision come to life. Pebble Beach Proposal Photographer

As a Pebble Beach proposal photographer, I had a blast photographing Matt and Rachel’s surprise proposal. These two lovebirds connected through the dating app Bumble and met for the first time for some tacos and frozen, strawberry margaritas. You can’t go wrong with tacos and margaritas. That was the beginning of their five years together and now they’re engaged! I had such a fun time getting to know these two. They are the sweetest couple. Matt proposed to Rachel with her grandmother’s ring which made the proposal that much more special. We captured portraits along the coast of the beach with all the beautiful greenery surrounding them. This proposal was one for the books!

What do you love most about your partner?

“I love that she is so confident about herself and knows what she wants. She cares deeply for others and is very protective over those she loves. She makes me laugh with how predictable she is.”

When did you know they were THE one?

“I don’t think there was one moment. It was more when I recognized that she and I were both extremely committed to making our relationship work, despite a period in between jobs, living in a small studio apartment during the pandemic, and countless other things that made me realize there is no one else I could even imagine tackling life’s challenges, or enjoying its pleasures.”

Tell us about the ring!

We have a round ring that belonged to her late grandmother Helen. It has a gold band and is around 2.5 carats.
