For Mat, and unbeknownst to his fiancé, Ivy, the next chapter in their lives together was his surprise proposal to her at Pebble Beach! These two were booked for my sunset session on October 10th, 10/10! I love lucky little dates like this for special occasions. It makes my proposal photographer heart dance! Not only is it easy to remember in the future, but it brings a smile to the face too.

Photography Session At Pebble Beach

Mat’s master plan was to propose to Ivy on the boardwalk. They arrived with Ivy’s cute dog who saw me a mile away (pets are the hardest to sneak up on at proposal photographers!), and took their own cute pictures together on the dock overlooking Pebble Beach. I’ve developed an eye for this sort of thing as a Pebble Beach photographer… That is, the nervousness in trying to find the right moment to get down on one knee. Mat really wanted that perfect moment for Ivy while she was enjoying herself and the scenery! I can only imagine how nerve-wracking it is to stick the landing! (I’ll stick to photographing these things instead.) We definitely got some gorgeous portraits there on the boardwalk and beach!

I loved the soft cloudy skies in Mat and Ivy’s portraits! The color palette of greens and grays and browns gives their photos this lovely cool-toned look. Not to mention Mat and Ivy’s outfits were so perfect together! And I loved Ivy’s red nail polish for that pop of color!

Weekend Golfing

These two were actually here in Pebble Beach for the weekend to go golfing! Complete with their surprise proposal at Pebble Beach, Mat and Ivy also stayed at the Pebble Beach Lodge– a tradition among avid golfers. In fact, Pebble Beach Lodge is one of the top-rated public golf courses in the country! Plus, the distinct addition of Fairway One along the first hole made for a perfect backdrop in Mat and Ivy’s Pebble Beach Proposal.

I think one of the best things you can do as a proposal photographer for your couples is to get them in an environment that’s fun and easygoing for them! We took some amazing shots around the course grounds. Seeing them dance and play were so cute! After that, we called it a day. Pebble Beach Lodge made for such an awesome venue for these proposal portraits!

I’m so thrilled to have been there for Mat and Ivy in this special chapter in their lives. The engagement chapters of your love story is a time to cherish, after all! The waiting and doing life together makes everything sweeter for the big day.
