A Pebble Beach Proposal to Remember
Some love stories start with a dramatic moment. John and Jessica’s? It began with a flip phone. Yep, Jessica was the very first girl John ever texted back in eighth grade. In fact, who knew that one simple text would be the start of a love story that would one day lead to a proposal at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach? As a local, and a Spanish Bay proposal photographer, I had the honor (and let’s be honest, the front-row seat) to one of the most memorable “she said yes!” moments on the California coast.

From Middle School Friends to Soulmates

John and Jessica first met in 6th grade, and later, by eighth grade, texting each other was basically the height of romance. In fact, Jessica was the very first girl John ever texted, which made the moment unforgettable. (Remember when one-word replies were a big deal?) Life took them on separate paths through high school and college. However, fate wasn’t done with them yet.

Eventually, at a mutual friend’s housewarming party, they reconnected. One conversation turned into another, and, well, they never stopped talking. Finally, by May 16, 2019, it was official! They were dating, and the rest is history.
The Qualities That Stole His Heart

A Spanish Bay Proposal Photographer’s Perspective on Love Stories
Ask John what he loves most about Jessica and you’ll get a heartfelt answer: her compassion, intelligence, work ethic, and her dedication to family. In addition, she also cracks him up with quick-witted jokes, perfectly timed facial expressions, and TikToks so accurate it’s like she has a sixth sense for their relationship.

If laughter really is the secret to a happy marriage, then these two are set for life!
The Moment He Realized Forever

For John, there wasn’t one single “lightbulb” moment. It was more like a steady glow over time. Still, if he had to pick? It would be during his FBI Agent training. Running was brutal, and discouragement hit hard. Even though Jessica hates running, she still woke up early to jog by his side.

Yes, she ran even when she didn’t want to, cheered him on when he was grumpy, and proved that love sometimes looks like sweaty sneakers at 6 a.m. Ultimately, that’s when John knew that she was the one.

A Spanish Bay Proposal Photographer’s Perspective
By October 2022, John had made up his mind. The only question left? Where. Spanish Bay at Pebble Beach had been on his radar since 2019, when he first visited and thought, Wow, this place is gorgeous. He knew Jessica would love it too! Plus, it matched her love of earthy tones: greens, tans, and browns. (John wisely skipped the neon ocean blue background and opted for grassier vibes.)

So the plan was set. Then, around 6:30 pm, with the sun setting and golden light spilling across the coastline, John walked with Jessica, delivered his heartfelt speech, and popped the question. And to make it even more special, her parents were secretly watching the whole thing. Smooth move, John.
The Sparkle That Sealed the Yes

Capturing Every Detail as a Spanish Bay Proposal Photographer
After ring shopping together, John jokes he now knows too much about diamonds. (He could probably moonlight as a jeweler if he wanted to.) Nevertheless, the final pick was perfect, a radiant cut diamond in a pavé basket with a sleek 18k gold solitaire band. Elegant, timeless, and guaranteed to sparkle in every photo.
Everyday Joys They Share

Little Moments That Shine in Spanish Bay Proposal Photos
John and Jessica’s relationship shines brightest in the little moments. They love trying new restaurants, shopping, and movie nights. Above all, their ultimate tradition is watching Jeopardy! Even if one of them misses an episode, they’ll still update each other on the clues, as if the other hasn’t already Googled them.

Music is another big part of their life. In fact, Jessica introduced John to Hamilton, and now they’ll dance to just about anything mainstream! Some of their favorites include R&B, hip hop, and pop. And then there’s John’s sneaker obsession. For the proposal, he wore a special pair that literally had Jessica’s name stitched into them. Talk about wearing your heart on your sleeve…or in this case, your shoes.

Capturing Forever with a Spanish Bay Proposal Photographer
When it came to the photos, John’s vision was simple, he wanted to digitally save them, share them with loved ones, and print Jessica’s favorites. He even asked about film photography (knowing Jessica’s appreciation for it).
At AGS PhotoArt, we believe proposals are a blend of grand gestures and tiny details. As a Spanish Bay proposal photographer, our job is to capture both the sweeping beauty of the coastline and the little things, like custom sneakers and inside jokes. Because one day, those details will matter just as much as the “yes.”

A Toast to the Future
If there’s one drink that matches John and Jessica’s love story it’s Prosecco, a light, bubbly, and full of celebration. As they step into this next chapter, we raise a glass to their laughter, their adventures, and all the future memories they’ll create.
