I was honored to capture this special surprise proposal in Big Sur for Evan and Grace! As a Big Sur proposal photographer, I was beyond excited when Evan reached out to me to plan the proposal for a day that their family was visiting Big Sur! We planned a family portrait session during which he planned to surprise Grace by asking for her hand in marriage. It was such a heartwarming experience, made even more special with their closest loved ones there to celebrate the moment with them! Read on to see more of this sweet proposal!
Evan’s plan for this surprise proposal in Big Sur went perfectly smoothly! Grace was completely surprised when Evan got down on one knee! Emotions were running high among all of the loved ones celebrating this milestone with them; lots of happy tears were shed! After the soon-to-be Bride and Groom had a moment together to celebrate this special moment, we had the chance to take some sweet family portraits as well as a few engagement portraits of the newly engaged couple. Big Sur was the perfect spot to photograph this proposal, and it is priceless to have both the cliffside view of the ocean as well as the classic beach shots.
What made you pick Big Sur for your Surprise Proposal?
I remember Evan mentioning during our session that he and Grace would often come to Monterey because she loves the Aquarium!
How did you two meet?
We went to Santa Clara University together, we met at our mutual friends house for a game night.
What do you love most about your partner?
Her sense of humor!
When did you know they were THE one?
When I saw how much my family loved her and when I realized how much her family cared about me.

It will have little emeralds on the sides with a family diamond on the front from Brilliant Earth.
