Jason and Katie took a weekend trip down from San Francisco to visit Big Sur, and Jason knew this would be the perfect time to propose to Katie. It was a gorgeous sunny day at the beginning of Spring, spent with the sweetest couple! The stunning coastal views were the perfect backdrop for this sweet surprise proposal in Big Sur!
Big Sur Surprise Proposal
This Big Sur surprise proposal couldn’t have happened on a better day, it was sunny with a slight breeze, and there was almost no one on the trail. Jason and Katie were an absolute dream to photograph, and they are the most kind, genuine and wholesome couple. They are both from San Francisco and work in real estate. Jason chose Big Sur because last year they had been traveling a lot for weddings, and this was a little getaway just for them since they are so close by. Big Sur now has a special place in their hearts, being the place that they got engaged!
What do you love most about your partner?
She is kind, funny, intelligent, thoughtful, generous, sporty, and beautiful! She has a very quick and witty sense of humor.
How did you two meet?
We went to high school together but didn’t know each other until we moved to San Francisco in 2016 and were connected by a mutual friend. We immediately became best friends and then started dating a few years later!
When did you know they were THE one?
As soon as we started to become more than friends!

It is a round solitaire on a gold band with platinum prongs from La Bijouterie in San Francisco.
