Although at first, we had a few wrenches thrown into our plans, I’m happy to report that Jaime and Lindsey’s surprise proposal on the sand was a smashing success! Planning a proposal is hard work, especially on the lively weekend of Labor Day. Having connections as a local Big Sur photographer certainly pays off when it comes to making sure my couples’ special occasions are one for the ages. I was so honored to have been trusted with photographing the start of a new chapter in their love story. Not to mention to have been trusted with finding their perfect location.
A Twist On High School Sweethearts
“I was never a shy guy in high school but Lindsey somehow always managed to make me nervous. She was my high school prom date in 2007, and then we didn’t talk for about 10 years. Then we reconnected 2 years ago! I’ve always known she was the one and that I was going to marry her.” – Jaime
I thought this was such a lovely story of serendipity. After TEN years, they reconnected and are now engaged to be married! Jamie really went above and beyond when it came to planning his proposal for Lindsey. Everything had to be perfect, and it worked out great considering she had no idea until it happened! Jaime also enlisted the help of his two sisters to create specific diversions and distractions until the big moment. That’s some awesome sibling teamwork!
Surprise Proposal On The Sand At A Private Big Sur Beach
Both being from Huntington Beach, a surprise proposal on the sand seemed to be a natural choice. Their personalities together are so sweet, smiley, and bubbly. They definitely didn’t need any direction from me when it came to photographing!
Ring Around The Rose Gold
Jaime’s sister lives in Monterey. Since they were planning on visiting, and the ring was going to be ready by then, it ended up working out perfectly. The oval cut with the scalloping halo. The rose gold setting is so gorgeous- not to mention the blue gems on the perimeter! I love seeing the thought process that goes into selecting a ring. Whether it’s together as a couple, or the man deciding based on what he knows his lovely lady will like.
All in all, I really enjoyed being Jaime and Lindsey’s local Big Sur photographer! If you’d like me to be the same for you, I’d be delighted to! Contact me here, and let’s make it happen!
