I love shooting local weddings and seeing all the different venues! Today’s wedding is from Monterey, where Vivian and Joe chose to have their ceremony in Pacific Grove next to the ocean and their reception at the Monterey Dance and Event Center. They had a beautiful wedding in the sun, which is super rare since it’s typically very foggy here! As their local Monterey wedding photographer, I captured all of their details including their sweet first dance and charming first look. Read on here!

Getting Ready

Vivian and Joe are such a sweet couple. Vivian had a specific vision for her wedding and knew what she wanted visually and design-wise. Joe was excited on the wedding day and anxiously anticipated seeing his sweet bride. Both of them looked incredible in their suit and dress. As a local Monterey wedding photographer, I love how Vivian chose to brighten her day with deep hues of pink and red colors!

First Look

Their first look was in Pacific Grove. They chose to have it in front of the lighthouse, and I loved seeing their excitement prior to the first look. Don’t they just look so giddy and happy? Their first look jitters brought beautiful portraits on the Monterey Recreational Trail. Here, they’re practically glowing!

Ceremony

The ceremony is along the Monterey Coastal Trail, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. You can see seals and sailboats in the water from their ceremony location. It was such a dream to be their local Monterey wedding photographer!

Reception

The reception had an incredible Gatsby vibe with its gold details and high ceilings. The tall archways framed this beautiful couple perfectly in their wedding photography. Their first dance was also one for the books!

What made their wedding unique was how Vivian and Joe were truly happy on their wedding day. They simply enjoyed their day! As their local Monterey wedding photographer, I think their joy reflected well in the photographs, too.
