Getting Ready at Bernardus Lodge

AJ and Annie chose to get ready on site at Bernardus Lodge, allowing the day to unfold at an unhurried pace. Annie spent the morning in the bridal suite surrounded by her bridesmaids, her mom, and her sister. The energy in the room was calm and joyful, filled with soft laughter, quiet anticipation, and moments of reflection.

Annie envisioned her getting ready photos to feel candid and authentic, as if the photographer were simply part of the room. That intention guided every image, capturing real moments as they naturally unfolded. Hair and makeup began early, leaving plenty of time for champagne cheers, spontaneous laughter, and meaningful conversations. Personal details were thoughtfully chosen and documented, including Annie’s oval diamond ring along with carefully styled accessories and florals.

Meanwhile, AJ prepared nearby with his groomsmen and family. His morning was filled with warmth and tradition, including heartfelt toasts and a Beltrami family tradition of sharing a peppermint schnapps shot. These moments brought an easy joy to the start of the day and set the tone for the celebration ahead.

This transition from ceremony to reception is one of the most dynamic parts of a wedding day. The light, the energy, and the emotion all come together in a way that feels celebratory and intimate at the same time. Capturing these moments allows couples to relive the feeling of their wedding day long after it has passed.

A Joyful Reception at Bernardus Lodge

The reception unfolded on the Lucia Patio, where thoughtful details reflected AJ and Annie’s personalities and shared life. The color palette included mauve, terra cotta, warm peach tones, soft blush pink, ivory, sage, deep green, and gold, creating an inviting and romantic atmosphere.
