Jen and Bryan’s Gardener Ranch Wedding in Carmel Valley, California was one for the books. Leading up to their wedding, we saw a 90% chance of rain on their wedding day and planned accordingly! We brought rain boots, clear umbrellas, listed the different plans for the potential ceremony sites, and also had back up spots for their first look and portraits. We wanted to be as prepared as possible for the stormy day! But before we get into the miraculous and unforgettable details of their Gardener Ranch wedding, let’s start at the beginning.
How They Met
“We met through a mutual friend. Jen was working at Disney with Nicole and always complained about the horrible guys she was dating. One day, Nicole [a mutual frend] was telling a story about one of her boyfriend’s friends from college and our co-worker said, “Why don’t you set Jen up with him?” Bryan texted Jen a few days later. After a few failed attempts at their first date (some mudslides and ER visits led to some required rescheduling), we met for brunch and the rest is history.” – Bryan
Jen and Bryan dated long distance for about a year and half from LA to the Bay Area. Their relationship never wavered!
Sweet Nothings
“Bryan is the kindest, sweetest, most patient, and most thoughtful person in the entire world.”
“Jen has the biggest heart and I love how thoughtful she is about absolutely everything.”
How He Proposed
“Bryan proposed via Jeopardy episode. We are big Jeopardy’s fans, so we sat down to watch a Jeopardy episode one Tuesday night while we ate dinner. We watched the entire episode, but without me knowing he had downloaded the episode to his computer and edited and photoshopped it so that when the Final Jeopardy category was announced “Bren” (our celebrity name) appeared on screen (he even edited the sound so Alex Trebek said Bren as well. When it came back from commercial break, the final Jeopardy question said “Two years from the day they first said hello, Jen said this when Bryan asked her to marry him” and as that came on screen he got down on one knee. The contestants all answered “what is yes?” and then he had made a slideshow at the end of the episode. It was amazing and perfect.” – Jen
Rain Or Shine, It’s Our Wedding Day!
Despite the almost certain chance of rain, Jen and Bryan remained incredibly optimistic the entire day! Bryan’s attitude was, “if it rains, it’s okay! I’m marrying the woman of my dreams.”
It didn’t rain one drop all morning! When Jen and Bryan needed to decide whether to have their ceremony indoors or outdoors, they chose to wait it out. They decided to have the ceremony outside, as originally planned. But as they began to walk down the aisle, it began to sprinkle! Guests put their umbrellas up and everyone laughed. Then, just like that, it stopped raining.
The rain could have ruined the day, but it didn’t pour until after the dancing! It was so sweet capturing a couple that chose to believe in the good; these circumstances could have made other couples melt down, but Jen and Bryan chose to embrace all of it.
Their wedding was the last wedding of the year for me! I am so happy that I could be a part of their rain or shine Gardener Ranch wedding!
