An Amazing San Juan Bautista Mission Wedding That Will Make You Need To Dance! | Edith & Martin

I loved photographing this beautiful San Juan Bautista Mission wedding with a reception at a private residence in Aromas! Edith and Martin are both so kind. Their love for their family and friends was apparent throughout the entire day. And they knew how to have fun! A Mariachi band played live music and later in the evening the dance floor was covered in laser lights! Not to mention, these two had over two hundred family and friends present. It could not have been more perfect!

How They Met

“We actually met in Fresno at a concert. I was living in San Luis Obispo at the time. Martín was living in Salinas. His brother was studying at Fresno State and invited him to this concert. I love going to these concerts and met up with friends there. It’s funny I actually had spotted him before he even talked to me and he says the same. I was eating tacos and his friend asked my friend to dance so then Martin stayed with me and the rest is history!” – Edith

How He Proposed

“It was Father’s Day. We all agreed on getting together at a relative’s ranch (where the wedding reception is being held). Martín had to work that Sunday. My sister and I were the last to arrive. Martín’s family was hiding inside the house. I sat down outside with a cousin who was distracting me. Then a song began to play loudly and someone pointed out Martin riding up on a horse with roses! I instantly began to cry (it was an ugly cry too!) My nieces came out of the house holding up signs. Martín’s family came out of hiding. Both of our families were there, which meant a lot for the both of us. Martín got off the horse and onto one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in shock! I said yes immediately.” – Edith

What They Love About Each Other

“I love that he is patient! Loving and caring. I love that he still opens the door for me everywhere we go. If he forgets, I make sure to sit there until he remembers, ha!” – Edith

“Her personality, patience, and creativity (like when she surprises me)!” – Martin

The Wedding

One single detail that I loved about this San Juan Bautista Mission wedding was hearing the wedding party share stories and things they love about the couple. Although most weddings only have the Maid of Honor and the Best Man speak, this couple opted for everyone to have a chance to share. Each member of the bridal party (ten people total!) all shared something sweet. How special is that?
