A surprise beach proposal in Carmel

Young love is so refreshing to witness, especially in such a gorgeous location! Of all places, it is such a dream to have a beach proposal in Carmel. With perfect weather conditions, Adam and Maansi had a perfect day ahead of them. Adam reached out to me wanting to surprise Maansi, and luckily for him I’m a seasoned and stealthy surprise proposal photographer!

A fateful meeting

Let me take you back in time! Adam and Maansi met during their first year of college at the University of Chicago. They were in the same dorm along with 2 other classmates. They all enjoyed spending time together. However, much of that time was Adam and Maansi getting to know each other. They often worked in the library, watched TV, or just stayed up late chatting — sounds just like a Lifetime romance movie plot! Eventually, Adam moved to Houston, yet the two lovebirds kept talking. The rest is history, and every moment led up to this beach proposal in Carmel.

When asked what his favorite traits are in his partner, Adam replied, “I love her strength. Whether it’s her strength to stand up for what she believes in, her strength to keep pushing toward the incredibly difficult goals she sets for herself, or her strength in always moving forward in times when we’ve faced challenges, she is one of the strongest people I have ever met.”

Love at first laugh

I always love to get to know my couples before the big photoshoot. It’s only natural to feel more relaxed in front of the camera when you trust your photographer! I aim to capture your most candid self, so being relaxed is so important during the photoshoot. Adam and Maansi are a great example.

I asked Adam which things about Maansi make him laugh. He said “Something she does that never fails to make me laugh is that she sleeps, all the time! She can sleep anywhere, anytime. She’s got a wonderful sense of humor that seems at its height when it’s just the two of us hanging out and having fun like best friends.” Sure enough, there they were having the giggles during their romantic beach proposal in Carmel, happier than ever. We know when we see true love, and it’s always more likely when lovers are also best friends!

The big surprise!

They had booked a reservation at Lucia Restaurant at Bernardus Lodge and Spa and planned on taking a walk on the beach before they left for the Valley. That’s where he planned to pull out the ring and get down on one knee!

Even after having the most successful beach proposal in Carmel that they could have ever imagined, the night was not over! They planned to head down to Big Sur.
